An exercise in heresy
I fail at keeping resolutions. One hour of drawing a day? Yeah, I suck. I'm trying to jump-start my resolution this weekend, so hopefully on Monday, I'll have something to show. I'll be out of town Saturday and Sunday, so hopefully I'll get lots of time to draw!
Anyway, the Firefly flans on my flist that frequent the Browncoat Boards might have heard of the hilarious "I CAN'T BELIEVE SHEPHERD BOOK IS MAL'S FATHER **SPOILER**" thread. Pure silliness! And from this silliness comes artistic genius! I started tuning in when IcedPhoenix and Atalanta (cytherea_rose) turned Mal and Atherton's s-what fight into a lightsaber duel, and stayed for the hijinks, the comments all increasingly ridiculous. (Though the funniest part is still all the people that took the subject line seriously.) Here are my contributions:
Megumi: I still don't think they should change the movie name to "5 guys 4 girls and an ironically named spaceship".
Zaogao: Breaking news: Wash got Joss pregnant!
Me: Wow, just when I thought I'd found a fandom where I would be safe from mpreg.
Atalanta: Didn't everyone love all the X-men references? Joss got me interested in X-men in the first place so it was just great to find out that everyone on Serenity has the mutant gene and were just waiting until they passed through the Hawkseye Nebula before it was activated. And when Mal discovered his power was the ability to turn his hair into paperclips? Priceless!
Me: I'm going to the *special* Photoshop Hell.
Maggieburns: Yeah, and when they all pulled off their masks and had lizard faces beneath--it explained so much! I'm still unravelling the pan-dimensional, socio-political ramifications...
