Livejournal!
Wow, I can't believe Livejournal is still around. I remember sitting in my bedroom in my parent's house, eating pringles, trying to think of a username to sign up for this new journaling service. I had many online journals but my two favorites were livejournal.com and scribble.nu. I guess Livejournal made it for the long haul, eh? And I bet you can't guess how I came up with my super creative username.
Life is crazy. My last post was just three years ago, where I was shocked and scared and excited about surprisingly getting pregnant while on the birth control pill. I had no idea that I would lose that baby just a couple months later. It was awful and everything nightmares are made out of. I lost another baby a few months after that and we finally got pregnant the summer of 2013.
It was the most stressful pregnancy in existence. Almost weekly ultrasounds with my perinatologist. A teeny tiny baby, inconclusive NT testing that seemed to point to Down Syndrome. Then dwarfism. Then heart defects. The unknowns were insane and the appointments were becoming increasingly stressful. Our little girl was born via repeat c-section at 37 weeks (my latest term baby!) and guess what? She was over a pound more than what they were predicting via ultrasound! UGH.
She did end up having heart defects (3) and she had heart surgery at just 2 weeks old. She had another surgery done around 8 months old. She is on blood pressure medication and the state of her heart is up in the air at this point. Our three girls are Zoey (6), Kiera (4) and Teagan (20mo)!
Anyway, this is where we're at! I'm thinking of trying to post more often. I let my domain hosting expire because I never used my blog. This seems less daunting, honestly. Less maintenance. Just type and go. Easy!
