Will You Still Love Me? ; OnKey

Kibum loved the way Jinki interlaced their fingers together, the way his breath seemed to linger on his neck and how his cologne mixed with his own. He never understood why Jinki said his fingers were short and stubby when they were gorgeous. They kept Kibum sane when he was over the cliff, they gave him warmth, and they gave him the soft, comforting touches. He also loved the way Jinki's lips would land butterfly kisses on his eyelids every morning and his husky morning greetings would send Kibum over the edge.

Jinki was no man of surprises; he didn't buy flowers for Kibum everyday, nor did he get him presents often. He led a busy life as a office accountant- he didn't earn much on that job though. At work, he had to face his employers and the numerous bloody boot-lickers that desperately tried to climb up the ladder. He believed in working hard to get what one wants, and that's probably why he hasn't been promoted... just yet. The only thing which Jinki looked forward to every single day was when he got back from a tiring day of work and Kibum preparing dinner. He was bemused with the fact that Kibum hadn't left him- he wasn't rich, talented nor was he exeptionally good-looking. Kibum, on the other hand, was perfect. Literally. You name it, he's got it. Jinki was further amused when he remembered the day they met. Clichéd.

Kibum could remember the day Jinki took his hands and intertwining them, both running to nowhere particular in mind. The way Jinki turned to face Kibum, sent chills down Kibum's spine. His dyed hair was all over his face, hiding his semi-slit eyes. The way they made love on the luscious grass was... Exhilarating. It hurt, but Jinki's constant coos did most of the job in effectively shutting Kibum up. It was a slow and gentle process; no clothes were ripped or clawed off. Although a tough week for Kibum followed up, he couldn't leave the bed nor could he even toss around while not hurting. It was during that week when Kibum was fired for absence without any news.

It was also in that week when Jinki decided to pop that very question with that very significant ring. Kibum, not wanting to sound desperate, said he'll think over his proposal seriously whereas his heart was doing little flips. In no way, however, would Jinki miss the delicate details of Kibum, when a small smile tugged at the corner of his mouth, Jinki knew his future was paved. They had their vows exchanged at a small and peaceful chapel under the Canadian sky, Kibum gave out a cry of elation when Jinki slid the simple silver ring around his finger. With a kiss, they sealed their eternal commitment. They had a short honeymoon in Prague, after which Jinki had to get back to work. Obviously mindful of earning more to make sure Kibum was well-fed; he promised his father to do so.

"I still don't get why you chose this," Jinki exhaled.

"Mm?" Kibum stopped his tapping on the keyboard, and looked up (he freelanced occasionally.).

"I mean, look at this. Look at- us. Kibum," he stood up and walked over to said person "You deserve so much better. Your hands, they were once so smooth and all.. If I had-"

"Jinki,"

"-n't insisted on my principles to do my sh-"

"Jinki, list-"

"-it and just please those higher-ups at work, you would've had a bet-"

"Stop it." and he left.

It would've been a understatement to say that Jinki loved him. He needed him, Kibum's appearance made Jinki's life something worthed to live for. But what Jinki didn't understand was that Kibum left his family to be with him for a reason; he loved him. He deliberated over it for almost a year before deciding that Jinki was worth his while. It broke Kibum's heart to know that whatever Jinki had been rambling on earlier was a confession that basically meant 'You're a burden to me'. Who would've guessed Jinki had it in him. Kibum sat in the corner of a nearby cafe, waiting for the rain to stop. It started raining when he arrived and secluded himself from the few couples sitting near the cosy counter where the coffee roasters were (they said 'fresh coffee from the freshest beans'). He played with the spoon in his double espresso and the small bit of cookie they offered alongside the caffeine. Stirring it. Once. Twice. He sipped it, but replaced it on the plate, deciding that it was scalding. Jinki always blew his coffee warm for him. He smiled at the memories he was so fond of, like how Jinki would be his muse at writing and how Jinki would kiss him goodnight. The door opened, and a blast of cold wind shook three of the couples near the entrance. He heard shuffled footsteps and choppy breaths. The chair at his table moved. He looked up. It wasn't surprising to see Jinki all wet and laughing.

"Need a blow?" Jinki eyed the coffee slightly before looking at Kibum.

"That," Kibum pushed the coffee towards the other man, "sounded so wrong in many aspects." then laughed along.

"Whatever."
