Riley had given into his fight or flight reaction by bolting. Of course, he didn't bolt too far. That was never his intention. The original plan had been for he and Evie to meet everyone at the pool for 'brunch' before Evie was going to spend some time with Tara while Lachlan tried to catch up on his much-needed sleep. Riley had plans to hang out with Tab and Luke, but he had sent his twin a text message and asked if they could just have a drink together at the resort bar first. He had left Evie a note before she had even woken saying he was just meeting Tab for a little while and to have a good time with Tara. It hurt to know he was doing it all to avoid kissing her.
He now sat at the bar waiting for Tab to drag her arse there. Two gaudy pink and orange drinks sat in front of him with matching blue cocktail umbrellas. It was too early for alcohol, so he was braving the weird world of Mocktails again and this time he was dragging Tab down with him. He subconsciously put his finger up to his lips, trying to figure out of how the fuck he was supposed to know when the bleeding had truly stopped.
