Riley looked at the pile of paint cans sitting on the polished wooden floors of the empty bedroom in the Campbell home. They'd bought far too much, but it didn't matter. The fact the Lachlan had discussed paint samples with Tara, asked Riley to come to the paint store with him, bought paint and various painting implements to even get to this point of constructing the baby's nursery was a huge step for the melancholy Scotsman.
There were two pictures of nurseries -
turtle themed and
duckie themed - were stuck to the blank white wall near the door and out in the hall was a brand new
bassinet for the months the baby was too small to sleep in the crib. Riley and Evie had bought it for the parents-to-be a few weeks ago but it was one of the things Lachlan hadn't wanted in view. He'd asked for Riley to bring it back, though. It was going to be the first item to go in the baby's room.
Riley turned to the photos. "Which one are we doing?" he asked.
