you're gonna love my nuts

nothing too exciting happening here, except the usual--having a baby! i am 25 weeks pregnant today. my belly is getting rounder every day and people are starting to touch it, which is freaky. i don't like random people touching me, like coworkers that i barely speak to. i know they are just excited for me but it still seems rude.

anyway, baby gifts are also starting to come in, and we are also planning on moving to a bigger apartment at the end of this month, so our house is currently full of boxes. boxes of baby items and boxes of clothes and books i've already packed up.

also, we are totally poor. mike unfortunately still hasn't found a full-time job and the work with PJ is very few and far between. we are currently living off our savings, which sucks, since generally when you are having a baby, you want to build up your savings, and not deplete it. i hate money. i wish we just had enough to do the things we need to, like pay our rent and electric bills, while still having enough left over to pay for mike's insurance and some groceries. is that so wrong?

last weekend we went to babies r us, which is always an eye-opening experience. and this weekend mike actually did work up in sacramento. he spent the night so i was here alone. went to the farmer's market, watched some miyazaki, some dark crystal, had dinner at weird fish with paul (fried tofu and chips!! best vegan cherry cheesecake!) and today i have been very productive cleaning the house, writing thank-you notes, painting my toenails, packing, doing the dishes, and even baking some raspberry chocolate chip blondies.

wednesday morning is my next monthly doctor's appointment and wednesday evening is phish at mountainview! i am very excited, even though we might not get there very early because mike may have a temp job that day. it's okay. the lot scene in wisconsin was pretty much not happening, so i'm not even sure if they'll have anything set up at shoreline. phish is doing a 3-day festival south of palm springs this year, but it's over halloween and that means i am unable to travel. unless i want to risk having a baby out in the desert at a phish show. it would make for a good story, but not really what i was planning for the birth.

the sun is finally out! it has been such a nasty foggy summer so far, except for a nice week once or twice. i hear michigan is just as bad or worse. we're flying out in less than 2 weeks for the shower and i hope summer actually arrives before then.
