For the one hour screening I had a 99. For the three hour screening I had 75 for my fasting sugar, 155 after the first hour, 180 after the second, and 151 after the third hour. It is official I have Gestational Diabeties. Which I kind of knew because I haven't been feeling well. I can't concentrate when I try to read and I get sleepy. But the thing is they didn't tell me anything at the doctors office. All they did was give me referrals. One to the Hospital's Diabetes Center and one to a Perinatal Diagnostic Center. They told me to call the hspital right away and make an appointment for a class. And call the Perinatal (high risk) doctor and ask when they want to see me.
Normally with GD the Perinatal ask to see you starting at 34 weeks but since I have PCOS they might want to see me earlier. Eventually they will see me weekly for an ultrasound to see how the baby is growing.
I got an appointment for a Gestational Diabetes class starting next Tuesday.
I am just frustrated that no one told me what to do in the mean time. At the class I will learn to take my blood sugar and find out how often and when to test it. But they didn't give me any instructions for what I am suppposed to do now. They could have given me a sheet saying don't eat this try to eat more of this. But no nothing. Ifelt like they said okay you have this hooribe ondition that could hurt your baby but stay tuned until next week to find out what you should do...
