I've decided recently that while I am relatively happy with the way that I look, I can look better. And I have. My junior year of college I lost 30 pounds by swimming religiously and watching what I ate. I was in some of the best shape of my life since high school. And I want to get back close to there. I have a red dress that I bought to wear to a wedding the fall of my senior year of college - and I want to get back into it. Plus I'm going to GA to see Erin in August and I'd like to get my belly pierced while I'm there - so the goal is to drop some weight before then. I picked up Jillian Michaels (from the biggest loser) 30 day shred and oh holy lord, in 20 minutes does she make you WORK and SWEAT. its actually pretty damn awesome. I started it on Saturday and I could only get through the first circuit and a half of level 1 (its 3 levels, 20 minutes each, circuit training of strength, cardio and abs and you build up) before I was going to die. Last night I did it again and got through all of level 1! I feel surprisingly good today and a few people at work say that I've already lost weight. I see a few subtle changes in the way my clothes fit me today, and its motivating.
My problem with weight loss in the past has been that I don't hold myself accountable. I don't have a support group, and I do well for awhile and then start eating like shit again. But this time, there's a few of us in the cookleta_etc community that I'm a member of who are doing it, as well as some friends on twitter and on the Kris board. I have a support group, and I have people to hold me accountable on the days I don't feel like doing it. They give me the kick in the ass I need. On that note -- day 3 of the shred tonight because I'm going to see Daughtry tomorrow night - so I won't be around to do it then. We'll see how this goes - I'm excited.
On the Jimmy note - the tour dates I posted in my journal the other day aren't headlining, they're opening. For Greg Laswell (who I don't really know who that is, but I've been told he's pretty good. To me, some Jimmy is better then no Jimmy, and I'm way more excited to see the Boston date on there then anything. I don't mind traveling to see him, but being at home is nice too. As of now, I'm definitely going to Boston and Philly is in discussion. I was telling Jolie last night that I feel like I'm going to get talked into NYC. I'd love to do Philly, DC, NYC, Boston, but I think I'll save that for a time where he's actually headlining. Because that'll be a fun road trip.
So, I've been tagged by
