I'm sure you don't have to worry about this one. They don't have to go in digging around in her brain, all they have to do is drain some fluid...simple procedure.

They have most of brain surgery down to a sience now days (no pun intended) and have made it so easy that they are allowing Doctors instead of Surgeons perform the easy ones.

This isn't the old ages where people were dying left and right. PLUS...if your mom is in the Atlanta area, Atlanta has Emory University which turns out The Best brain specialists in the world, so you have nothing to worry about.

I know we don't talk all that much, but my thoughts are with you.

My mother's former girlfriend has a son who had a shunt put in when he was little, and when he hit his teens, had to have another. He's a typical teenager, he just has to be careful about contact sports. So as long as Mom hasn't made a career of being a linebacker, I'd say she'll be fine :)
