I got the most terrible news when I returned to work this morning. My favorite band, Will Hoge, is losing two of its members. I'm so sad because the band won't ever be the same.
So now for the other news. I know you guys like to be kept in the loop so here it goes. Keith and Tres will be leaving the band. Keith as most of you know just had a baby boy in February. He feels like he should be home and be more of a father and a husband. You can’t fault him for that. It’s not good for anyone( Keith, us, or YOU) to have someone on the road who doesn’t want with all of their soul to be there. So to the entire Brogdon clan we say, “thanks” and good luck. We all know you’ll do a wonderful job Keith. As for Tres, we all had a conversation after Keith left. I asked everyone to think about whether or not this was something they still really WANTED to do. Tres thought about it and came back with his answer. He’s been with me from the start. It’s sort of the same thing. Tres wants to be more than just a musician. Marriage, family, etc are all something he sees in his future and doesn’t feel a life on the road is the most conducive way to achieve those things. We’re in the process now of getting some new guys worked in. So no shows will be cancelled. But if you want one last chance to see Keith or Tres, you better act now. I know they’ll both be there for the show in Macon on the 12th, but after that, we’re unsure as to what the lineup will be. Brian, John and myself completely respect both decisions and appreciate the way both of our friends handled it. Don’t worry, John, Brian and myself are COMPLETELY committed. Probably more than ever. Things have really taken a positive turn for this band. Both musically and on the road. It's been a rough year, but in the last 7 months, we can feel it totally turning around. And we have YOU guys to thank for that. We’re in the process of working on new songs in Nashville over the holidays. We’ll be finished with most of that late next week. And then back on the road for Macon. To all of you out there on the road, see you soon. To Keith and Tres, good luck . To Brian and John, thanks for sticking with me. I LOVE YOU ALL.
