thank God for muslins

Aug 06, 2006 15:35

After reading the reviews on PatternReview.com, I decided to make a muslin for the bodice of McCall's 5094 before I cut my fabric. Generally I don't make muslins, but recently someone gave me a large batch of scrap fabrics, so I dug into that (leopard print here I come!). And boy am I glad I did!

The bodice is HUGE. I have a boxy shape already, so I'm used to altering patterns a tad; still this is ridiculous. This MIGHT fit Scarlett Johansson. MAYBE.

And I detest not having a dress form. I took in the front a tad, but now i have to wait until the only other seamstress in the house is available to fit the back for me.

So I'm sitting here with a piece of cherry cheesecake watching Bride & Prejudice. It's making me feel better, and who knows - maybe it'll even help the dress fit! ;)
