hurrah for claires!

Long story, but last night I was on a mission to find SOMETHING jewellry-wise to go with my Nefretiri costume, make it more identifiably Egyptian, etc. I've been somewhat tight on funds lately, so I was thinking I could pick up maybe one $7 necklace from Claires. I got there just a little before they closed last night, wandered toward the back where I found they were having a 10 for $5 red tag sale! Woot! So I stocked up, bought two chunky gold bracelets and a couple gold necklaces, which created a really nice effect layered. Plus stocked up on some fun costume jewellry for myself - a couple necklaces made from red shell buttons and glass beads, a long black plastic, a woooden bangle . . . I like real jewellry, but there's nothing like costume when you want something fun. :D So anywho, woot for getting 10 items cheaper than I thought I'd get one.

Anyways - costume went well, thanks in part to the jewellry. Some blank stares when I mentioned the source, got one "Cleopatra," but some really nice comments. I think my nicest compliment came from my costume designer/theatre professor - "wow" and "gorgeous" were his words.

Speaking of theatre, first dress was last night. Aside from the BUTTON HOLE FIASCO, which we will not mention, I think it went well. I still have plenty of handsewing to do, but most of it is unnoticable and even unnecessary (except for perfectionist me!). I'm going to try to get a camera from Media resources to show you all; we shall see!
