Well, it's been about a million years, but since some of you read this goofy shit I'll inform you of my updates and soforth and suchon.
I am officially teh moved in and settling. The new apartment is indeed fantastic, and about half the size of a normal asteroid (oxymoron intended).
This place is 1000 square feet with wall-to-wall carpeting, has a dishwasher, central air of the future, a garbage disposal, elevator, and two-layer state-of-the-art security. It has a gym downstairs that is free for the tenants to use, a media room, and wtf else? I don't even remember. There's so much. Oh yeah, I've befriended two of my neighbors already and received home-made freshly baked cookies. It's looking good here. Oh, and on a good day I can walk to the library across the way (Yes, I can!).
The little mew babies are enjoying all the new nooks and hidey-holes. Kuno-chan is being particularly cute today, and is nestled under my monitor.
Which btw is awesome (TY Steve). After hunting around for a full day for the standard DVI cable that it needed (fuck you VGA and fake DVI) it is operational and settling in its native resolution of 1920x1200. It's beyond huge. I can see what I'm typing from accross the room.
When I'm playing WoW it's like walking around IRL. Or maybe not that good, but man this new monitor is sexy. Additionally, I was considering hooking up my extra monitor and running dual screens like you see in the movies. I've always dreamed of my deskspace looking like a NASA shuttle launch command center. And with the help of a fancy videocard I can make it happen.
The air conditioning/central air creates a ridiculous vaccuum seal in my apartment which makes me have to pull really hard to open my bedroom door (which I find hilarious).
I'm getting the final work done to get my care provider moved in, and she's awesome. Loves to cook, and she's social and enjoys company. Not to mention she has about two houses worth of furniture, and I get to pick out what we want to use, so now I don't have to buy ANY furniture.
I've been watching The Shield on DVD which I got for a mega bargain at a yard sale, it's a really interesting show, and cops are fascinating to me anyway, so I've been enjoying that. Once I'm done watching it (seasons 1-3) I'm probably going to try to sell it for some extra cash. I want to make sure my kitties get their reproductivity removed. It's an even trade.
Any questions about my awesome new apartment?
