Tuesday, September 1 at 7:00p.m from North Point High School in Waldorf, Congressman Hoyer will have a town hall meeting. Only the first 1,000 can get in.
I hope people remember the high-profile incident of the helicopter crash in Prince George’s that killed healthcare workers and a teenager and caused much more healthcare needs of a second teen who lives in Waldorf. This is just one example of why we need reform.
Why do Charles Co. folks (& DC residents, etc.) have to go to Prince George’s Co. Hospital? Tax payers are currently supporting that hospital and Prince George’s Co. is footing a lot of that bill - not just the state. That’s a public healthcare system, but it’s not good enough. DC & Charles Co. need proper facilities, so we don’t take the brunt of it. Politicians have been blamed for keeping the ailing hospital opened, but they are doing it because they care about the people who need the healthcare - there is nothing in it for them personally. We taspayers pay our representatives Where would those people go if it didn't exist?
Medicaid, Medicare, and Veterans Healthcare are government-run healthcare programs & seniors & veterans want to make sure their programs aren't cut or reduced, so they must be beneficial. So why all the concern about government-run healthcare? Even Canada allows people to buy private healthcare insurance. But the current bills being most considered aren't anything like Canada's system & continues to support private healthcare insurance.
Please support healthcare reform for the good of Prince George's Co., Maryland, and the nation. Spread the word. If you can't attend a meeting (& even if you can), write your representatives.
