My goodness, it really is like trying to solve a puzzle, working out all these words today.

I see Dr. Tinycat has his sleeves rolled up by now, though.

....Sorry. I meant to say that I'm on my way to work right now.

But I know how to waltz.

It's quite all right. It seems to be happening all over, today.

Do you! Oh, how lovely. It rather does seem as though quite a few people don't, doesn't it? And I do hope that doesn't keep people from going to the ball, the fear that they won't know how to dance for it.

Only well enough to break it out at the occasional colleague's wedding, but I'd call myself passable. This ball's going to be a black tie affair?

Well, if you'd like the chance to brush up a bit, I think we're going to have lessons sometime before the ball, to give everyone a chance to practice. And I think Tamaki said white tie, even, so it's sure to be quite lovely.

I don't know if I'll have anyone to go with, yet. If it's white tie I'd better find out before there's a run on suit hire.

Really? Why, I find that quite hard to believe. I'm sure plenty of girls would be more than pleased to attend with you. And if you're concerned about your suit, I could recommend you to a very nice fashion designer, if you like.

Do you think I should put out a general call for applicants? And I'm not sure I'd want something tailored - how often am I going to be going to balls?

[ooc: finally an excuse]

I think you ought to pick one and ask her, since I imagine there aren't many people who would say no to an offer like that. Aren't you friends with Miss Saya? I'm sure she'd be pleased to go with you, if you asked.

And you never know, really. I've been to my fair share of balls, myself, since I arrived here. Blair used to have one every other month or so.

[OOC: A THING OF BEAUTY.]

I'm friends with her. I'm not sure it would be a good idea to ask her to be my valentine just yet.

Blair's balls involved dresses well above the ankle and music by people I've never heard of.

Going with a friend might still be preferable to taking applications, though, don't you think?

Well, yes, there was that. But I suppose the trick to that was simply, er, not letting Blair pick out one's dress for you.

I'm sure she's got people lined up to ask her. I'll have to see if I know anyone who's the ball type.

Oh, that was my mistake.

Well, I do hope you'll manage to find someone! And please do come by for the dance practice, too. It'd be just lovely to have you.

Ugh, honestly, you should've seen one of the awful things she--no, actually, I take that back, no one should ever see that horrible dress again, much less wear it.
