I don't know -- sometimes disaster really strikes without any warning. But as for this City? Something like this can't mean too well. I was thinking of the hair monster and the preceding earthquake. Honestly, though, I think I'd prefer the hair monster to... other things. At least it could be appeased with lemon cakes.

I'm kinda holding out hope it might just be some new addition to the City, but... I don't know.

Wonder if it would make any sense to go have a look at the barrier. Just to check.

I've been thinking of that too, actually. But some people are thinking it'll be something even worse, or even a recreation of the end of the world. At this point, I really don't quite know what to think, honestly.

Do you suppose we ought to go out and see, though?

Recreation of the end of the world? How can you recreate the end of the world?

I don't know. At the moment, the dangers seem to have ceased, so it might be a good moment to go check.

Well, Huey mentioned something about a prophecy in a story, and how it might be following that, somehow. He seemed to think that the signs fit.

We'll have to go out over the water, won't we? With a boat, perhaps, or...?

Oh, in a story. Must be a pretty important story where he's from.

If we want to do a close inspection, I think that'll be necessary.

It certainly sounds like it. I don't think it's one that I've ever read before, though...but perhaps, in light of the circumstances, I ought to look into it after all.

I think you're right about that. And we'd best not go anytime near nightfall, either, after what happened yesterday. The quakes might start up again, or something equally dreadful.

That's a good idea. Maybe we can use that to prepare ourselves. Do you know what it's called?

So we best start as soon as possible, right?

I think he mentioned something about "the Rapture" and that it was the last book in The Bible. So it shouldn't be too difficult to track down, knowing that.

Yes, I should say so. Though I must admit, I've never really looked at the barrier before, other than when it was all coming down a few months ago, so I really can't say what would look normal and what wouldn't, honestly.

The Bible? Isn't that some really important book for Christians? I think it is.

Ah, well... same for me, actually.

-- no, wait. I did go once before. With Riou-san... yeah. I think I know what to look for.

I think so, yes. Though I'm afraid I don't know much about it, myself.

Oh! Good, then that's one thing managed. And really, as long as it seems to be holding up, that's all we really need to know, isn't it?

Can't say I do, myself. Might've gotten me in trouble at home, even, and I haven't looked that much into it, myself.

Yeah! That's the main point. Suppose we could have a more generally look at the rest of the City on the way. But the barrier is kind of actually important.

Really? Just for reading a story? Why in the world is that?

Yes, let's get that much done first, and whatever else we have time for, that can come after. I think that's only prudent.

Christianity as a whole's forbidden in my country, in my time. Can get you arrested. Might get you killed. The works.

So, what are we waiting for?

My goodness! I'm so very sorry to hear that! And I see why you'd have avoided it while you were at home, yes, that makes perfect sense.

Nothing, I suppose! Shall we meet up outside the Library and go on from there?

Someone I... a friend was a Christian, and got arrested. Not because of it, but I don't think it worked in his favor when -- if -- they found out. He did get out alive, though. What a relief!

Sounds good! I'll be there in fifteen.
