Went to a bit of a gathering type thingy tonight. There were people playing board games, but I mostly hung out and socialized. We had some very interesting discussions about various topics. One of the ladies there was literally jaw-droppingly floored when some of us tried to describe the narrow, dogmatic beliefs of conservative Christian folks. My best friend's wife said something pretty amazing in this conversation. I won't get the quote exactly right, but it was on the lines of the following:

There are billions of people in the world, and no two sets of fingerprints are the same. Each snowflake is different; each blade of grass is different. So how could you believe that a God that made that much individuality would specify that there was only ONE spiritual path to walk?

Good stuff. I like my friends, because we can have goofy fun conversations, or deep intelligent ones. Present company included!
