[ My, what a beautiful day it is! The clouds are stagnant, the birds sound like they're choking on gobstoppers, the trees look as though Picasso took a brush to the landscape, and one travel group is making their way through Ilex forest ( Read more... )

...Why would you wanna cheat, though? That takes the fun out of the whole game!

... Is this supposed to be "fun"?

It's fun when you don't think too hard about being in a video game! Not quite the same as dueling, but I enjoy it most of the time.

...You don't?

I might enjoy it more if the panic died down and my Pokémon were a bit more reactive. Normally, I don't mind it at all.

Well, yeah, I didn't mean this. I love my Pokemon, so seeing them turned into little sprites that run on artificial intelligence or something is kind of frustrating.

I'm glad the traveling is a little easier right now, even if the scenery is screwed up, but I hope things go back to normal soon. I like video games as much as the next person, but this is weird...

So this really is like a glitch inside of a game...

Something like that. Wonder what glitched, though?

I can't even begin to guess. I'm not an expert at this by any means.

I've only played a few games, I don't know anything about how they work.

...Now that I think about it, though, everything's running on some kind of set program, right? The people are, at least, since they don't have minds of their own anymore, and so are the Pokemon. So are those weird things with the messed-up sprites and the creepy sounds that are running around everywhere set up, too?

... You think there's someone else behind this, then? Someone who intentionally set these up?

I don't know. Maybe they're the ones who caused it, or maybe they're thrown in to be a distraction from something else. Or maybe they were totally unintentional. Beats me.

I tried fighting one and it just ran off before I could finish it off, so I've just been ignoring them since then. It seems like they don't really want to fight people, just annoy them.

They're doing a decent job of it. The network's been mainly in an uproar.

I saw. I think people just don't know what to make of it.

...I don't, either, but then again, stuff like this stopped taking me by surprise a while ago. And we had a warning, sort of... that weather. I just don't think anyone was expecting this.

I can't blame them. This was one of the last things I expected.

At least we know for sure we're in a video game now.

[Pause.]

...That could mean any number of things, though.

That only narrows it down a little bit.
