The trees swayed harshly. The ferocious winds bending and twisting them. You could practically hear the trees howling in pain and frustration. One unlucky soul happened to be out on this night. Well, unlucky isn’t quite the correct term to call this person. For they were outside of their own free will.

Yes. This person was walking the very much deserted streets of Cappy Town because they wanted to. Now there is a legitimate reason for this man to be out. He is checking the houses. He had to make sure everyone was inside and safe.

The man walking these lonely streets held his head high. The winds did hinder his travel to his true destination of his sights. But he was fine with that. It gave him time to inspect the houses. Every window was boarded. Every door was over triple locked. And everyone was silent.

His footsteps could most likely be heard by these villagers. Even his cape made flapping noises as it tossed and flipped around his small body. He paused. The only sounds now were his cape swishing and the wind that blew it. But one other sound could also be heard. Probably not by any other but him, yet that didn’t matter.

That third noise shocked the man. Almost… scaring him. It scared him because of its familiarity. His eyes widened at the sound, and at his own cowardice. He balled his hands into fists. The air around him visibly tensed. Though it relaxed after he let out a sigh.

Obviously relieved he looked onwards. A castle in his views, he started walking again.

Inside said castle were two knights. They sat in front of a window as if trying to merge with it. “Come on you two,” a small pink ball said.

“He’ll be back, just like he said” another small ball continued.

“We know.” Said the first knight.

“He always keeps to his word.” The other knight said.

The two small balls floated away. Leaving the two knights by the window.

“I hope Lalala and Lololo are right.”

“Mmhmm.”

The two knights at the window stayed there for the next, oh, two hours. And they would have stayed longer had someone not started yelling at them.

“Sword! Blade! Get your butts in this kitchen right now and eat my cooking!!” Screamed Fumu.

“You should do as she commands or you might get nagged to death!”

“Shut it, Bun! I know you like my cooking.” Fumu retaliated before bonking Bun upside the head.

The two knights, known as Sword and Blade, looked at each other and laughed. With one last glance out the window they followed each other to the kitchen. In the kitchen the diner table was almost empty. However, not as in plates of food. There was plenty of that to go around twice, and then some. But in chairs. Only Fumu, Bun, their parents-Memu and Parm-, Kirby, and Tokkori were at the table for twenty.

Everyone chatted as if nothing was amiss. Sword and Blade had sat down and were filling their plates. Before they started eating they whispered something to themselves. Fumu had been watching them and asked, “What was that for?”

Blade looked over the tablet at her. “Hm? What do you mean?”

“What was that thing you did just now after you got your food?”

“Oh, we do that every night.” Blade replied.

“Even before Sir Meta Knight took us in.” Sword added.

“Pretty much everyone was listening in on the conversation now. It was a different topic and they would learn something new about the knights that always followed Sir Meta Knight. Bun peeked his head up from gobbling down his food. With food still in his mouth Bun tried asking “Wh-d ‘er oo ay?”

“What?” Sword asked.

Bun swallowed and asked again, “What did you say?”

“Oh.  We said: We are thankful for this food and hospitality, and hope we may continue to receive it tomorrow.” Blade answered.

When Blade said that no one spoke. It was an awkward silence. And that made Sword and Blade very uneasy. And also a bit embarrassed that they were just staring at them.

Memu spoke first. “That’s very sweet of you two to say something like that before eating.”

Sword and Blade nodded quickly. Sword continued the conversation by saying, “We were thieves, and so getting a meal was kind of like a gift. If that makes any sense at all.”

Memu nodded and smiled. They were all about to continue eating when they heard the castle doors slamming. The noise made them all jump. Everyone looked out the doorway to the hall. The sound of slamming doors was heard again.

Then the sound of dripping and clinking. Like the sound Meta Knight’s shoes made when he walked. Sword and Blade gasped and shot out of their seats and down the hall.

Meta Knight inwardly cursed at the loud noise the door made when the wind banged it into the wall. He pulled it back over and shut it behind himself. Now that he was inside his cape drooped and practically flooded the spot at which he stood. He grabbed the edges and strained out the water.

When he started walking for the kitchen to meet Sword and Blade, he heard them running. Well, more like he heard their chairs crash and them stampeding down the hall to greet him.
