There is no one in the world that Ed trusts, relies on or even needs as much as his brother. Alphonse was here when Ed first got to the city, and didn't leave for two years -- when he did, Ed was nearly devastated. Not only because he was alone, but because they had worked damn hard looking in this impossible place for a way to restore their bodies. Now that he's back, Ed is fired up again with the effort to do just that: he made his brother a promise, after all, and he'll be damned if he isn't gonna follow through with it.
COLONEL ROY MUSTANG; ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠
Has better things to do than hang around some shitty city getting into trouble and being a smartass. As much as he grumps about everything, he acknowledges the Colonel as a superior officer and grudgingly respects him enough not to bitch too much about things. Besides, he might be an arrogant ass, but if he doesn't become Fuhrer then he's gonna have to answer to Ed.
SELIM BRADLEY/PRIDE; • • • • • • • •
Hate. Haaaate hate hate. Currently Ed is from a chapter where he doesn't canonically know that Selim is a homunculus, but Alphonse and Mustang explained a lot of things to him about it. Not only is Pride a dangerous son of a bitch, he's an asshole too, and taunting Ed about the millions of things that go wrong in the city just makes him angrier.
DISCEDO

One of Ed's oldest friends in the city, and someone he trusts completely. They work together in the high school library to piece together the mysteries in the city, and together have amassed what is likely to be the most information anyone has on the city itself.
HATSUHARU SOHMA; ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠
Sometimes Ed has to wonder, is this guy fucking serious? But despite the trollish tendencies and the weird talk (and calling him a fairy fhgkfd), he counts Haru as a very close friend.
YORDA; ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠
A strange girl and possibly the only person that can call Ed a bug without being massacred. He's impressed by her practical smarts, and treats her almost like a little sister.
MAKA ALBARN; ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠
An equal, a sparring partner, and someone Ed trusts a lot. She was one of the few that he told about his faked death in February 2009, and is one of the only people he's told about his past. They bicker and argue a lot, but she's a very close friend.
HIWATARI KAI; ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠
Another quiet, stoic guy -- honestly, they bond over the banter. Another sparring partner, and someone who just seems to get it. They have a lot in common.
TOHSAKA RIN; ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠
Part of the tsundere harem. Ed and Rin bond over talking about the technicalities between the practices they use -- alchemy versus magic, and the possibilities of combining the two. He has a good deal of respect for her, even if she has a weird magical girl alter-ego...........fff.
SETA SOUJI; ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠
They don't know each other very well yet, but he seems like a pretty smart guy. They've talked a few times and see each other around at the elementary school.
AZULA; ♠ ♠
Aka, "why is every girl I know out of her fucking mind?" They have a history of working together, but they both keep on their guard about it -- there's little trust between the two of them. She helped him fake his death in February 2009.
RIFUL OF THE WEST; ♠ ♠
Again with the fuckcrazy girls. He doesn't know about her secret cannibal tendencies (fff) but he has a suspicion that something's not right about her.
THE SCIENTISTS/LOLITA; ♠ ♠
Everyone in the city has a strange relationship with the scientists. The jailkeepers, so to speak, are mostly resented by the populace. Ed has met Lolita face-to-face twice, once in February 2009 and once in October 2009, and he's starting to understand that there's something more to them -- especially her.
HAYNER; ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠
One of the guys interested in alchemy who stops by the elementary school workshops. Hayner's kind of like him -- or how he would be if his life hadn't gone to shit. He's a fun guy to talk to.
TSUZUKI ASATO; ♠ ♠ ♠
Ed knew Tsuzuki before he left the city and was reset -- he thought he was a pretty good guy. He's disappointed that he doesn't remember being around before, but hell, what's a guy gonna do about that, right?
Terence ♠ ♠ ♠
Right, so, Ed met Terence right after he finished telling Haru that fairies don't exist, and now he just doesn't know what the hell to think. He's kind of weirded out by Terence being so timid about everything though.
ALFRED JONES/AMERICA; ♠
...What the hell is wrong with this guy. He kind of seems like a loudmouthed idiot, and there's no way Ed's accepting that he's running the Marshall apartments, but he's relatively harmless.

YOUR LAME CHRISTMAS PRESENTS ARE NOT FUNNY, KAMUI. They share a similar brother complex, but otherwise there's some static between them, most of the time.

Is an ass, plain and simple. Also worst neighbor ever.

Is kind of an idiot, but harmless. He's baffled by how he can think Yuki's a good guy, though. Also loudest neighbor ever.
