How scary to realize what might have happened to your siblings! As a mother of 3...man. Realizing how much we may not know about my kids' teachers etc. A good reminder for me to keep a close eye out.

I'm sorry your siblings knew so much turmoil from these people. Abuse affects everyone even those it didn't happen to. So sad:(

You did a great job, tracking down all those videos and all.

Thanks for sharing!

Yes, it is definitely scary to think about how close they all were to it. And it is very true that abuse affects even those who weren't directly affected.

Thank you. They were fairly easy to find - as three of the four were things I was really fond of, and have always remembered. Only the Beverly Hills 90210 one took some searching.

You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed it!

I watched many of those shows alongside you! Media plays a big role in educating us, whether we like it or not.

Oh, and I love Parenthood still to this day.

Oh yay! That's fun!

And, I agree with you! I actually just bought it on DVD, and my youngest brother (who's 13) loves it. I love how the great movies stay relevant.

Thank you very much. I appreciate that. And I agree, it does depend on what you're watching, and what you choose to take away from it.

TV really can do some good stuff. There's a lot of crap, but then sometimes I find myself impressed by the amazing social commentary or insight.

The impact that the media has is actually a bit frightening to me. It can do so much good...yet it could also have the opposite effect.

I think it depends on what the person watching chooses to take away from it. Thanks for reading.

I think I got more information from my books than I did from tv. I watched soaps with my great grandparents but other tv was limited, books however were all fair game.

Books are awesome, too. When I was younger, though, I read more for entertainment and less for information. TV sneaked the information in there, so I got it no matter what. :)

Oh I read for entertainment too but I read things like V.C. Andrews and Stephen King at 8 so the information was always there in a twisted way. It taught me to make connections between things a bit faster. :)

Oh, wow. That's quite advanced! I thought I was early, finding VC Andrews at 14...
