GE TAI?

Spent the Saturday at the most unusual places. Well, first up I had to lug my ass down to Suntec City Convention for the Career Fair. Because I HAPPILY agreed to sign up to be an NTU HSS ambassador. But anyway despite the frequent openhouses and all, Its fun because you get to know more friends and profs better. Esp, *cough*Dr. Scott*cough*.

So ANYWAY. There I was with many others at the NTU booth, at 10.30am in the morning, freezing my butt off in the empty hall. The place was huge and packed with people by 11, and filled with local unis, overseas unis, job booths etc. Well. I think I almost lost my voice from talking the whole day over the noise. It felt like a re-enactment of 2 years ago, when fresh(and blur) A'level graduates like us anxiously scoured uni openhouses and fairs for anything and everything they can get their hands on. Well, actually I noticed its the parents that are more anxious than their kids.

Most Popular Questions of the day:
1. May I know what is the cut-off point this year for ______________? (Fill in the blanks with Psychology/Economics/Sociology/Eng.Lit/Chinese)
2. May I know what is sociology about?
3. What are the career options if you do Psychology? Apart from being a psychologist? *hawhaw laughter* (During which I just stare back at them)

Anyway, "Cut-off point" is so PSLE era! But. you know what they mean. Oh the life of a student in Sillypore..

Managed to snitch this kitschy goodie bag though. hehe. Tad Glam but I can throw my swimming barang in it.

Tiring day, we ended up taking a nap in Kenny Rogers halfway during lunch. Another tad glam moment but in dire need of SLEEEEP.

Haha. What happened after was pretty interesting. For the first time in my entire life, I went for a grassroots leader/constituency chinese dinner at Pungol. There were MPs at this huge dinner, RADM Teo Chee Hean was there and there was a GE TAI okay. Its like this 2 LOUD chinese MCs entertaining pple in a chinese variety style and it was HILARIOUS. Dialect mixed with chinese and english, only Singaporeans can understand. Anyway, I was asked to join shouch for this dinner, invited by the team of constituency leaders he was coaching. Well, paid for anyway and it was a five hundred dollars 8 course dinner. Who would say no right? SO i joined him. An eye-opener really. Also, a first going all the way to Pungol South. All the way at Buangkok. Even shook hands with the minister of Pungol! Quite a young, pleasant-looking man.

Managed to get this one shot of Teo Chee Hean before my camera died on me

What a night. Oh didn't win the lucky draw 1st price of a 29" coloured plasma tv which I was eyeing. Hoho!
