Moonlight Revelation

May 02, 2010 04:13

Dr. Rush followed Lt. James out of the wormhole. The planet’s twin moons bathed them in incandescent silver light. It would’ve been beautiful if there had been time to reflect upon it. A mile ahead, the gigantic waves crashed onto the light gray sand - their strength greatly increased by the strong lunar system. High tide was coming.

James would definitely see how much Rush cares about Chloe, she see much more than the others believe. :)

Rush still said nothing, but a flicker in his eyes indicated that he was shocked by her revelation.
My favourite line. Rush rarely shows any indication of what he's feeling but that would make him react.

I think she does too! =D I tried to keep Rush as subtle as possible so it would fit with the show.

excellent! It makes me wonder if he had consciously realized why he was trying so hard to find the missing crewmembers. It would be James that would understand the best and you did a great job showing that.

Thanks!!

After rewatching it this morning, I've decided that Rush showed more emotion about it than anyone -- really. His reactions were more subtle than James, but he was definitely reacting a lot with his facial expressions, etc. I found it particularly telling towards the end when Young tells him that the others are still missing. He looks like someone just ripped the floor out from under his feet. And the way he walks to the console afterwards, it's all heart-broken, and then he drops his little bag. =( So sad!!!

I agree, at first I thought he was being a little weird when James was talking to him before and he said he didn't believe in luck then just walked away. Thinking about it now though, that could be put down to growing concern that he wasn't going to find Chloe in time.

That's exactly what I think happened. I think he was very focused on Chloe, whether he realized it or not...and it definitely manifested in a perceptible way for us fangirls.
