A Poem for V-Day
No, this was not based on a true event.
Valentines Day is not ALL there is to life
A true day for lovers to love,
A new day for new lovers to become.
A day for a divorced woman to cry.
A day for a sad man to die.
A capital L for the love that is no longer here,
A lowercase m for the mother I see in the rear veiw mirror.
A true blue color went acrossed my fathers face,
a tear of sad obliss and then joy acrossed his face.
A heart that was broken,
An oath to never be respoken.
A hatred I had for her that day,
A mother that went away.
A sad look across my face,
A warm touch and a strong embrace.
A hand my Father did offer,
a warm hand that came to me.
A day I will never forget,
A day when my stupid life was ruined.
A day I wish my life was different.
