So. Over at azalee_calypso's journal there was this meme. I forgot I asked for a drabble, but I totally did (and it was ~*wonderful*~ because there is not enough Shiki/Neku) and anyway, the rules are that the first ten to comment get a free drabble. The price~? You're supposed to do the meme back. And, I'm not going to like, hunt you down to get my drabble's

...On the other hand, there is not enough Sasuke/time-skip. (Or Naruto/time-skip, for that matter.)

The first year of traveling from base to base with Orochimaru, Sasuke wonders if Naruto can find him. There are no reports of other bases being attacked by a loud blond wearing bright fucking orange, but he knows that Naruto can do stealth when he really needs to. Sasuke doesn't stop to call himself important enough to warrant that kind of dedication from his frie--former friend, it just happens. Sasuke is a teammate and Naruto will try to rescue him. That is all.

His training really picks up after the one-year anniversary of joining Orochimaru rolls around and he has still not seen or heard anything about Naruto coming to his rescue.

Sasuke buries himself in training. Training now, training later. Training before breakfast, after lunch, all night after Orochimaru warns him again not to strain his body with that special tongue-flick/hiss thing he does every time he mentions Sasuke's body.

Sasuke thinks he can almost change the shape of Chidori. That would be useful. Rasengan was just a ball. Not that Sasuke cared or anything.

Much as I love Orocchan and all his fucking weird creepiness, this was just... disturbing details. Love it, congratulations 8D

I don’t even know where to begin. Every word in every sentence of this drabble meant something. Sasuke is just the type of character you’ve described here: he likes Naruto but he won’t change the way he thinks of him as a rival. Like feeling proud that he can manipulate chidori’s form-he doesn’t take pride in himself; he’s only proud he can do it because Naruto can’t. It’s always about Naruto.

WHY DON’T YOU WRITE LONGER THINGS?

Unlike some of the others where I feel more modest about my abilities, I am very proud of this drabble, so I'm glad that you (and underhandy and aza) all like it so much. <3
