The World's A Joke, But I'm Not Laughing.

Some days are just so damn frustrating. Maybe really not the days, because some of the hours can be good and decent. It's the people involved in those other hours that seems to ruin the overall day...and all they're doing is trying to get a laugh.

My third period class. Filled with grades from 9 to 12. Mostly the younger kids are what drives me up the wall...they whine about taking the class, Windows/Network, which teaches you how to use basic Microsoft Programs, such as Word,Excel,Powerpoint, etc. (Which is an elective. In other words, they choose to take this, it was not required.) My guess is that they thought 'Computers, wheee! We won't have to do anything!' So being faced with actual work, they rebel.

They play games, they get up to talk to someone across the classroom, they whine "What's the point of learning this?" , and some even rap. Mostly this is just to get a laugh out of their friends. They think they're so witty, and anyone who doesn't agree is a teacher's pet.

Sixth Period, another computer class. This one is Graphic Design, using Photoshop, Illustrator, etc, to make your own logos, designs, etc. Again, grades of all types. Again, an elective. Again, people thinking it's a freebie and moaning with real work is involved. They enjoy moaning "I'm ho-ooooot", watching videos on Youtube, blasting music, blocking screens with hand-motions, yelling swear-words when they know the teacher will tell them to stop, and making black jokes. A bunch of comedians. Who cares about grades, as long as the guy next to us knows they have a sense of humor?

Ninth period, mostly seniors, another elective, Problems and Statistics. A math class, basically. Here the boys think they're a real hoot, trying to make every day a 'funday' (Monday Funday! Funday Friday!) , asking if they can leave, asking what the point of the class is, and making a side comment every single time she speaks, be it 'for' her or aganist. They always have to have the last word, and look around to see who's grinning. [Unline the other teachers, this one actually did something, and told the most frequent one to shut up, and then go to the vice princpal's office.]

At home, I chat up with Mom about my day, as per the norm. When I get to Ninth period, my little sister (two years younger than I, attends the same high school) rolls her eyes, and has to give her opinion. "Oh, gawd, what is the big deal? Everyone does that...the classes ARE pointless. I constantly say that!" I give her a blank stare [As does Mumsy] and tell her these classes are electives, and the only 'freebies' are study halls. She merely scoffs, and says what they do is no harm. I apparently blow things way out of proportion.

"How is someone supposed to teach when everyone keeps making snide comments every time she opens her mouth?" I ask.

"The classes are stupid anyway." She snapped. As all our debates go, she keeps giving the same answers, and refuses to give in, even to simple logic. Mom finally splits us up, although agreeing with me about everything.

Finally, I relax by watching some TV while surfing the web. L&O : SVU is on about a kid who copies a video game and kills someone. His laughter eeriely reminded me more of the growing number of assholes around...and, online, I read about a rising group of flamers attacking writers. Overall....Kids laughing about bitches and hoes, niggers and niggahs, rape and murder, watching other people crumble or grow enraged. All of this, a whole wave of laughter...what the fuck is so damn funny.

I am so goddamn sick of this. Why are so many kids so desperate to get a laugh? Is it really that hard to control your little ADD bursts and act like a normal human being? "Maybe it's because summer's so close!" I bet many of you are thinking. No, no, no, no. They've been giving this attitude the entire year. Fuck, I've known kids like this since gradeschool. You think they'd mature eventually. I just want it to stop.

You're not funny.
