Feeling Ill But Happy Alltogether
The past couple of days, I've been feeling really sick, so I've been rather upset.
Then my mom comes home, all smiles. She's spreading joyous news, nearly laughing in delight...
She has a good friend, who we'll call Jenny. Jenny has been suffering from cancer for a lot of her life, but has fought hard aganist it. She managed to start her own buisness, and wed a great man. Now, these two have been trying for years to have children, but with no success.
Finally, still detirmined to care for another life, they agreed to sign up with a progrma that lets them adopt a child from China. The paperwork was all done, and they could be flown out any day...
...And then, shortly after, an amazing discovery. Jenny was pregnant.
What about the child in China? Well, Jenny and her husband decided that this was fate working...they weren't going to leave the China child behind, and so they have decided to have this baby, and adopt the child as well. Can you imagine, a couple distraught by not being able to reproduce, and now they'll have two children!
Then Mom gives me the biggest grin, saving the best part of the story for last. Jenny's due date....is Christmas Day.
If fate and destiny do exist, they've been giving me a crappy time, but they've worked wonders with these two. We may read about how low humanity sinks every day in the news, but you have to admit...it does have its perks, too :)
