(no subject)
Why hello, April! It's good to see you. :) I know the weather has been warm and the first day of spring has already passed, but there's something different about April in that it really, truly feels like spring is here in a way that it just doesn't in March. In March summer feels like a distant dream, and in April it's a tangible reality that's just around the corner. So yes, welcome April!
So I'm currently waiting on my laundry to finish drying in the brand new high-efficiency machines they just installed in the laundry room. I like the new washers and dryers a lot but I was not pleased to see they raised the price of each load from $1 to $1.25. I know they have to offset the costs somehow and that's okay, but it would have been nice if they would have told us in at least one of the billion notices they sent out, as I almost didn't have enough quarters. Still, I'm happy to have some updated technology... if only they had done this sooner, since I'll only be living here another 3 months or so.
Speaking of, today I'm heading into work a little early for a meeting with my store team lead and the store team lead of the Fishers Target. I'm not too worried about it since I'm likable and good at what I do, so mainly I'm hoping that we make my transfer "official" by the end of the meeting. I'm anxious to have an idea of where I'll be and when I'll start so I can move forward with finding living arrangements. I won't have time to look at apartments again until the weekend of the 18th, but there are a couple in Noblesville I want to check out - nice with all the amenities I want, but less expensive than those in Fishers. While it'd be nice to live at one of the places that's within walking distance of the store, I'm also realistic in realizing that I just can't afford to pay $650-700 a month in rent with my student loan debts being what they are. So this is the first lead I've had on something cheaper that's still close by but NOT a dump. We'll see how everything goes.
In the meantime, I'm excited because today is my last day of work for the week and then I'm taking a long weekend to go to Chicago with Adam and his friends Ryan and Erin. Tomorrow I'm going to drive up to Adam's and then Friday afternoon we'll head up to Ft. Wayne (to pick up Ryan and Erin) and then Chicago from there. No big plans for museums or anything like that, just shopping and hanging out, but 4 days away from work with my guy? Yes please.
Of course next weekend is Death Cab on Friday and then Easter (we're going down to Jasper on Sunday morning to have brunch with Adam's family), and in one short month from today we leave for Disney!! Oh my, it's sneaking up on me. Also, I need suggestions for Adam's birthday present... we set a $100 limit and I'm totally stumped! We'll be in Disney so it needs to be something relatively small and easy to pack in a suitcase. Any ideas? Not too long after that I'll need to get him something for our one year anniversary and I'm totally stumped on that too. Oof. I think I outdid myself with the watch for Christmas because it was such the perfect gift I don't know if I'll ever be able to "top" that, you know? I'm sure I'll think of something.
So I should probably get my laundry soon but I just wanted to mention one last thing and that's how much I love my new Ipod speaker dock. We're not going to carry the blue one at work anymore and I found it on clearance for $62, so I had to snatch it up. And I've had it on my Amazon wishlist ever since I got my Ipod last year so it felt like fate that I got the last one. :) Anyway, time to go see if my laundry is dry yet. What's everyone else up to today?
