While the rest of you Mars fans are watching the season 3 premiere, I've been catching up. The package I'd been waiting weeks for amazon to deliver arrived yesterday afternoon. So, I watched from 3:00PM-1:30AM and from 1:00PM-9:00PM, because how else should I watch VM but marathon-style? :p
It was really good. Not quite as good as season one, but still, very, very good. I'd been accidentally spoiled on several counts, so maybe that was a part of it, but it also seemed like they tried to juggle too many plots, and it felt like things got lost in the process. Still, loved Wallace's journey and new girlfriend[s] (dude, I have the *exact* same sweater as his girlfriend Jenn), loved the scheme to get Duncan out of trouble, loved that Aaron got what was coming to him, and loved our wittle obligatory psychotic jackass. *waves LoVe flag*
In between the two VM sessions (from 1:00AM-6:00AM), I read the third book in the Scotland Street series. I like the books, but I'd really been eager to get this one to see how a certain plotline would progress. It was resolved far more fully than I'd dreamt, which is an odd feeling. Now I can't wait for the next installment, though I'm not sure why, as the resolution was so... resolute. I'm not sure where it can go from here, at least in a happy way.
So now I'm just waiting for the NoN Go Pirates! tee I ordered from TWoP. And warding off illness. Staying up all night long probably wasn't the smartest move, as I could feel my throat getting sorer and sorer. Lots of soup and cranberry juice and ricola lozenges, as I need to feel better before Friday. We've got tickets for the oyster festival down in Chincoteague, and I don't want yet another trip during which I stay in hotel room, feeling lousy from another face-eating virus.
