All You Need is The Beatles

I woke up this morning, got Emily ready for school, sat down at the Mac and remembered what day this was. It was BEATLES DAY! Not only did The Beatles Rock Band come out, but so did all of the remastered albums.

I love this day. I will always remember this as a day that I will hold as a holiday.

Yes, I bought The Beatles Rock Band. And I played until my hands were sore, then I stopped for thirty minutes and played some more. My fingers still tingle and my typing is slower than it normally is.

I almost finished the game. I could not get enough of the snippets of conversations that had not been heard in decades by anyone who had not been in Abbey Road on that day. I realized something else. I was almost glad that I missed them. I would have been one of those girls who would have had a hard time with The Beatles breaking up. One of those girls throwing things in frustration, stomping around, screaming at nothing about how the world was ending. How could anyone not be? The greatest band in history was no more. There would be no more of the fantastic harmonies, George's amazing guitar solos, John's brilliant lyrics, Paul's soulful bass and piano, and Ringo just being Ringo. How could anyone alive then not want more?

But like I said, almost. I still would have loved to have seen them. I would have screamed at the black and white tv while watching them on Ed Sullivan. I envy every single person who was at Shea.

In Liverpool they were raw and new. Across the pond they were the original boy band. As they traveled, they evolved and showed the world what music could do.

The Beatles Rock Band is the video game I've been waiting for ever since I played the first Guitar Hero when Emily was in kindergarten.
