(no subject)
we've started packing. it's not fun, as always - but it's productive, and i'm finding stuff i thought i lost, like the beater attachment to my stand mixer, and the 2007 Blizzcon Attendee loot card with the murloc suit code! nearly all the books are boxed up, as are most cables and other various supplies. my next goal is to pack up all the extraneous clothing we do use, and donate the extraneous clothing we don't use. then it's the DVD collection, most of the dishes/cups/pots/pans (ugh), and all the bedding and pillows and whatnot.
in fact all i really foresee doing this weekend is packing. we have virtually no help lined up for next friday's furniture moving, which means anything/everything that can be moved without a truck beforehand should be. and now i'm going to stop thinking about the lack of help, because otherwise i will flip the freak out.
work today was intense. i did 4.5 hours of straight filemaker pro managing. my back hurts, my eyes hurt, and my brain feels like it's stuffed with cotton. i am going to get back to one person via email, then head on out. i can always finish emails and junk from home.
the good thing is, the house is coming along nicely! we now have hoses and have been watering the plants. we had the locks changed, and now the 3 major deadbolts all work on one key. the internet has been installed and it's at least 10 times faster than the DSL at the old house. the kitchen island has been constructed, and will be polished off very soon. tomorrow the chimney will be repaired. the utilities are all working. so, basically, when we move in next friday, we'll be living in a fully functional (albeit crowded with boxes) house! that's a huge advancement over the past... oh, 3-4 moves.
