my grandfather's funeral was yesterday. i knew he was a veteran, but i didn't know he had a purple heart -- the military gave him a proper sendoff, complete with 12 shot salute and flag ceremony for my grandmother. my dad read me his eulogy over the phone, and it made me tear up. i rarely hear my father express emotional sentiments. he's quite eloquent though! i hope someday i get to hear him talk about me in a happy setting.
apparently my aunt joan and uncle david have been in each other's company for the past few days, which to me is pretty amazing, considering they supposedly never speak based on some family feud no one will tell me about. i hope someday i get the story out of someone.
i was supposed to be doing website work today but i got sidetracked with book editing. thanksgiving + family issues + tons of work = not enough time for editing this week. i'm trying to make up for it.
i'll probably work through 5 pm or 6 pm tonight. granted, it's lessened by working on the couch, but i'm still looking forward to a weekend of crafting and relaxing. also sewing. there is much sewing to be done.
i am glad to be this busy. it's much better than last december, which was very slow. i like that my clients trust me to get stuff done.
also, apparently danny is cooking up some sort of surprise. it sounds complex and i don't get to know what it is until christmas rolls around. he's very evil about these things.
