the corn industry is defending high fructose corn syrup. and, the facts on their website are sound. what they don't tell you, however, is what your body has to do to break down and utilize high fructose corn syrup, and how unlike natural sweeteners, your body can't utilize hfcs nutritionally because it's chemically altered. honey and whole sugars have nutritional benefit (even if it's outweighed by caloric intensity in large doses); hfcs does not.
just a good example of how, when you are told something provocative, be it political or nutritional, it pays to check who sponsored the message. no pun intended.
