i don't want to seem heartless. because i feel for people who were in the hurricane(s). i really do. i live in earthquakeville, under the threat of total destruction every day. natural disasters suck.
but i can't help but get irritated when i read story after story about dramatic, expensive rescue missions to retrieve the people who refused to evacuate. they had advance warning. officials said GET THE FUCK OUT NAO KTHX! but they didn't leave (for a myriad of reasons, i'm sure).
and now it falls on the backs of other people, people who did GTFO, people who now have to risk their lives and limbs, to save those who (for whatever reason) didn't listen and parked themselves in the path of destruction.
.... i don't get it. and i'm irritated by it.
