(no subject)
and so, a month of (mostly) unsupervised work begins...
well, technically, it starts monday. today's sunday and therefore not a work day.
on friday tom, koji and i went out to lunch... it was supposed to be mexican, because apparently you can't get good mexican food in japan, but the little place we go to was all crowded, so we went for jamaican instead. turns out jamaican food, when made well, is fantastic! i had no idea.
today the housesitting begins... i really need to sit down and figure out a schedule for that. it's probably a good thing that we didn't go grocery shopping yet, 'cause i'll only be at the house part time for two weeks.
the sky outside is so pretty today... a very pure blue overlaid with deep grey storm clouds that have glowing sunlit edges... i tried taking a picture but my iphone can't capture low light images very well. but it's definitely starting to look stormy outside.
yet another random person from high school found me on facebook... i swear, if it weren't for work, i'd bail off that SNS as fast as i could... not because it's not useful, but because it's just way too easy for these people to look me up... it's so *bizarre* to get messages from a person you don't remember, who can apparently recall tons of random outdated facts about you!
ok well, i'm running absurdly late today, so i'm going to finish packing, feed the animals, and hit the road... i really really wanted to take a very long, hot shower since it's cold outside, but it'll have to wait until i get to portola valley... however, that house has a marble walled shower with a built-in seat, so i don't think waiting is awful at all. ^_^
