(no subject)
it's another beautiful day in marin. it's even pretty when it's sunny here (as opposed to monterey which, IMO, looked best with foggy skies). i know i'm biased, but i still think a different aesthetic exists here; the light quality, for example, gives sunlight a golden hue, whereas in monterey, sunlight filtered through constant moisture from the bay. i really really really want to drive out to pt. reyes, but i'm just not comfortable embarking on solo driving trips without access to my bank accounts or my AAA card.
my new iphone's battery seems to be more efficient than its predecessor's. i didn't use it much over the past two days; that being said, i didn't have to recharge it for about 48 hours, and it just completed another full battery charge. one more of those, and i'll be comfortable charging on the fly.
aside from work, i really want to accomplish something house-related today. yesterday i did a buttload of laundry and reorganized furniture a little bit (still not happy with it either), and today i feel up for something more. unfortunately, priority #1 is moving a couple more heavy pieces upstairs, and i need monkey's help for that.
i suppose i could tackle the kitchen. don't get me wrong, i'm happy with our kitchen overall; it's just. so. SMALL. compared to the marina house kitchen. stack up a few pots and plates and suddenly you can't get anything done. /sigh. the upside of that is it'll teach us to clean up after ourselves more.
it's funny how much life can change in a short timespan, especially when life was previously predictable. after my academic years, this year has been a virtual tornado of change. but i'm grateful the change was good, and positive.
