Cross Country Roller Blading with Matt Zuchry and Chinese food in a Raincoat Bicycle?

I had the weirdest series of dreams last night, and mostly I blame it on the candy.

It started out with a Gilmore Girls dream that was mostly a rehashing of various scenes from last season, in which I was alternately an invisible bystander, and/or Rory herself; the latter being more interesting because I got to hang off of Matt Zuchry (Logan), which I can definitely appreciate. It also rapidly degenerated (evolved?) into a musical, in which I (Alexis/Rory/ME) was dancing with Matt/Logan through a campy off-Broadway gazebo set made to resemble that fabled one from the Sound of Music, and, naturally, we were both singing.

I think at that point I probably woke up to the sound of my dog compulsively scratching herself.

Then later I tumbled into a totally new dream, starring most of my old teammates from my high school cross country team. We were all in some strangely Bavarian town setting (this I blame on the incursion of the Illuminatus! trilogy into my foggy sleep addled brain) waiting for a race to begin. Except it wasn't so much a race as some sort of game show or contest.. and regardless of who crossed the finish line first, the winner was actually determined by who could answer the bit of movie trivia shown collectively on several large posters at very end of the course, just short of the finish line. I had apparently watched someone else's race already, and had a fair idea of how it would go, and assumed that that bit about the trivia would be waaay easy, because I was standing near the finish line and I had read the question off of their posters and it all seemed pretty simple.

Flash forward to my race.. among others, I was racing a girl from my high school team who I was always afraid would beat me someday (though she never actually managed to). I was at the starting line getting warmed up, and for some reason I couldn't decide whether to do the race with my t-shirt on over my singlet or not. Yeah, that was a weird dilemma. I think it must have had something to do with my subconscious making the assumption that "Bavaria" would be cold and snowy, despite the fact that in my dream reality it was probably closer to spring or summer. Anyway the race begins, although apparently I was confused about the lane setup on their weird "Track", and because people were running across lanes someone did something that warranted a restart. Which was good for me, because I didn't immediately register the "Start" signal when they gave it since it wasn't a cap gun or even someone saying "Go".. rather it was some monotonous low key voice that went, "....and begin...." So we start over and I get off to a much better start. Although somehow the running shoes everyone was wearing had become roller blades, and it was now a roller race across Bavaria on what vaguely resembled a bobsledding course. o_0 Yeah.

Anyway the graphic details of the actual racing were pretty neat, and I definitely got a little bit of an adreniline rush out of it. Then ultimately it was just me and the girl from my team in the lead. I was naturally a little pissed because I wasn't about to let her BEAT me.. so I was really gunning like crazy for the finish line. After passing through many obstacles and various shortcuts we were neck and neck coming to the finish line... which was apparently inside a red-carpeted corridor through some sliding glass doors. It was in this corridor that we found the posters containing the movie trivia question... and I finally realized why this part was supposedly so DIFFICULT: when you're RACING and trying to be the first to cross the finish line (on roller blades, no less) you're going really FAST.. and those posters with the trivia question literally just FLASHED past my conscious vision. Oh shit! I said. I had time to read the question: "Which popular movie had absolutely NO scenes of the two main characters kissing?" followed by about a dozen movie posters from which I was to choose the answer. Huh. So me and the girl both crash into the finish line (which was also apparently some sort of podium, from which the game show host was obnoxiously learing over us). And as I'm struggling to recall the movies I saw in the posters and trying to narrow down which ones actually DID contain kissing.. I fade out of that dream into my phone vibrating like crazy on my pillow. Haha, oh well.

After I hung up the phone I fell back into a snooze, and this time I was back near the U, and I was trying to meet up with my friend Max at a restaurant on the Ave. Except I was driving this weird car/bike phenomenon that had a raincoat that buttoned up over it. And I had to look for my friend, because evidently he couldn't tell me which street this restaurant was on, so I found myself driving (riding?) up and down the hills around the Ave trying to figure it out (meanwhile the streets started to develop a weird resemblence to Chinatown). I ended up stopping at a place that for some reason was the lower level of a department store to use the bathroom. In the bathroom I ran into two other girls that I know from the U (only acquaintances) and they were discussing the lost and found bin in the bathroom from which apparently it was acceptable to pick things that you liked and trade them with a similar item of your own. (Yeah I don't know this was all really bizarre anyway). It was at this point I realized I was still wearing my cross country shorts from my race in the earlier dream o_0 and it seemed like I should try and find some pants. But there were no pants in the bin.. so I was like, "Meh." I went back outside and got back on my bike/car (it was definitely more bike-ish at this point) and buttoned the raincoat back up over myself and went off to find the restaurant again.

Eventually I found my way into this mile-long Food Court loop with a ton of restaurants and seating all around that looked an awful lot like the Eight at McMahon. I didn't spot my friend in the sea of faces (which, by the way, were mostly asian.. I can't explain). FINALLY my friend calls me and tells me the restaurant is on 43rd, and I was like omg I've been riding up and down 52nd.. so I went and found him outside of what I consciously realize is the Washington Mutual, not a restaurant. And then we both drive off in our respective car/bike contraptions because I think we were going to go find a friend's house where supposedly there was going to be a kickass pool party.

And then I woke up.

Haha!!!!?!!1:??1! awooefelkjfwebg. *Scratches head*
