est 5 weeks pregnant, first pregnancy

Hi all!

I have a question about plus-sized pregnancy. I noticed that that community big_mother was the only plus-sized pregnancy community listed and that it hasn't been updated since 2009. :(

So I found out last week that I am pregnant and due sometime around Nov 6. I have my first prenatal exam at the end of the month when I suppose they will be able to tell me more about how far along I am (though I am pretty sure I'm only about 5 weeks because I had a full period at the end of January). I'm 25 years old and don't have any health issues other than being plus sized and only having one ovary.

For the past five days, I've noticed that my pants are rather snug in the lower abdomen despite the fact that I have not gained any weight. I thought perhaps it could be due to the constipation I've been dealing with for the past week. However, I've still had a bowel movement every 2-3 days and since I've upped my intake of leafy greens, things have been running smoother over the past two days. I'm just wondering if it is normal to feel so "full" there already and for my pants to already start feeling snug DESPITE the fact that I haven't put on any more weight?

DH and I are really excited that we are expecting but I'm having a little bit of trouble wrapping my head around it. I have actually grown to take comfort in the "full" feeling I have as a reassurance that I am pregnant. Even with a positive test done at the doctor's office, it's hard for me to really believe it. Sometimes I wake up and my abdomen almost feels completely normal (pre-pregnancy) and it freaks me out. So, despite the fact that I'm not really enjoying being uncomfortable in my pants, I take comfort in the fact that I have physical proof that I am pregnant. Does that make sense?

I'm not experiencing any of the "typical" (if there is such a thing) symptoms like nausea and cravings/aversions. I do have a very heightened sense of smell, my breasts are slightly tender and a smidgen fuller, and I have to pee more frequently. I know it's still really, really early into the pregnancy and I don't WANT any of the bad/annoying symptoms of pregnancy but I almost feel weird that I'm not throwing up or craving stuff yet.

By the way, if anyone knows of an active/current plus sized pregnancy community on lj, can you please link it? My search skills are not turning up anything that has been updated in the last few years. I know I couldn't possibly be the only plus sized pregnant lady!
