Question: is my OB consultant as insane as I think she is for saying that when I come in for my VBAC birth at the hospital, I will, of course, be started on a Syntocin drip to get the baby out as quickly as possible, due to my previous failure to progress caesarean?
Relatedly, does anyone have any advice on what I can demand from the NHS with regards to minimal monitoring, active labour, etc? I haven't seen the same professional twice and everyone is giving me different answers. I'm being pushed heavily towards having a caesarean again, and I really don't want that and I honestly don't think it's necessary. Is this really a case of go to the labour ward and hope I get a good, understanding midwife, or is there anything I can do in advance?
Also - how do I find out about having a HBAC on the NHS? hiring a doula or independent midwife is absolutely out of the question. We simply don't have the money.
