7 week Ultrasound, small gestional sac

Mar 20, 2012 16:30

Have any of you ladies ever had a successful pregnancy with a small gestational sac? The baby measurement was right on track (7w 2days) with a heart rate of 140 but the sac was only at 5w6days through transvaginal ultrasound. I'm pretty sure I have a tilted uterus, but the baby looked like it filled quite a bit of the sac, so I don't THINK it is ( Read more... )

I'm glad things turned out well for you! :) The baby is measuring on target, the sac AROUND the baby is measuring pretty small. This means that it looks like most of the sac is filled with baby instead of seeing the black area with it...

I don't know what the qualifications are, but my OB has an in-house ultrasound area and there are techs there that do all the ultrasounds. She just gets the hard copies usually....

I had this when I went in for a general ultrasound of my body and the lady tech checked the baby at what we thought was 12 and a half weeks.
All I could see was baby but not much black around it and I was really worried but she said it would be fine.
When I went in for my dating scan, lots of black and baby was 5 days ahead :)

Fingers crossed for you!

I am currently 23 weeks tomorrow. My first 2 ultrasounds the babys gestational sac was nearly 2 weeks behind. The doctor didn't seem concerned since the baby was right on track. I guess it happens but when you look it up on google it will tell you ALL negative things and will make you worry.

My doctor told me whatever will happen will happen and there isn't anything you can do about it so don't worry because stress is bad for you and the baby and just try to carry on normally.

At the 13 week appointment it seems that everything was normal. Nothing out of the ordinary. Same with 20 weeks.

I go back on friday for a 23 week u/s to double check all the things they couldn't clearly see at my 20 week due to being plus size.

I feel baby all the time and I know he is fine but I worried so badly from week 8 until week 12 when I could hear his heartbeat on the home doppler i bought.

Good Luck to you!

Yes, this pregnancy resulted in that. I'm currently 30 + 2 with him & all is well & healthy :)

What's more important is the next ultrasound. Your doctor is right - it can go either way and there is no way to tell until your next scan. You can compare yourself to all the other people who were at the same week in your pregnancy and they can all be different outcomes. Step away from Dr. Google!

You sound like my husband! :P He has threatened to block google from my computer. :) Next ultrasound is this Thursday. I don't think I could cross anything more or pray any harder!

Thank you :)

Remember that one week might not change the difference in sac size. It can take a few weeks but as long as you baby has a beating heart that is the most important thing. I wish you and your husband the best. I hope everything works out.

I pretty much just went through the same thing. Google + medical conditions = not cool
