toxoplasmosis risk?

I'm wondering about the risk of toxoplasmosis from cleaning an indoor cat's litterbox. My midwife told me that for no reason was I to clean the litterbox so I haven't been. However, my husband has a blind spot for cleaning things and unfortunately the litterbox is one (even with reminders). My cat has gone on the floor three times now because the litterbox has been too dirty for her to use. This is a huge difference from my cleaning schedule of every other day. I was hoping after the first time he would get the hint but I just came downstairs to another surprise which I need to leave until he wakes up, ugh! Anyway, I work at a hospital and have some of the airborne precautions masks at home from our annual sizing tests, so if I wear that and gloves do you think I would be safe to clean it from now on? I'm 24 weeks now. What have your care providers said about the toxoplasmosis risk, and do you clean your litterboxes or leave them for someone else? It would be seriously great to leave litterbox duty for 9 months, but this is just not working out.
