Upper Back Pain
Alright, so I've tried Dr. Google, but haven't found the answer to WHY it's happening or a solution.. So I've come to you ladies (Dr. Elle Jae)! I've checked out the 'back pain' tag, but only found lower back pain issues and remedies.
I get this stabbing achy pain (feels like someone is sticking me with a shank and twisting it!) in my upper back (around the area where my bra snaps and up above that region) and it seems like it's linked to the pain in my upper abdomen around the bottom of my ribs (which is a much duller ache), it seems like the pain shoots straight through my core. It lasts for at least 5 min (or longer, I've never timed it, but it seems to last forever). Well it's happened before, irregularly, but last night it happened twice. Both times it woke me from sleep and the the second time it happened, it hurt so bad I could barely breathe and it was making me nauseous. Nothing seems to help except for waiting it out. The pain is just seriously unbearable and I think the worst part is I don't know what to do for it to stop and have no idea how long it will last. Could it be Braxton Hick's contractions? I sleep with a 5ft long body pillow on my left side (the recommended sleeping position). So we can rule that out... I think. My OB knows I've had this pain, she said it was linked to me not wearing a maternity bra.. I bought one over a month ago now.
Labor could be this painful and I'd be okay with it b/c there is an end and I can help the process along. This is just unbearable.
