Taryn is 2 days old!!

Has been treating me very well. Taryn is an amazing baby and my husband has really surprised me this week. He has definitely gone above and beyond for me and I love him even more for it.

I ended up with a 2nd degree episiotomy, and some additional tearing, and it's been INCREDIBLY painful recovery. The staff at St Johns was incredible to me and my family, I definitely have to get them out a card. I'm hemorraging more than my OB would like, and there is SOOO much blood, my OB wanted me to stay for at least an extra day for observation, but she called in and medicaid would only pay for 48 hours after birth, and my time was up unless we could pay out of pocket, which we couldn't afford, so we came home today. Taryn had her hearing screening yesterday, and got a 100% on the left ear both times, and a 0% in the right ear twice. They retested her this morning, and she again passed with flying colors in the left ear, and had a drastic improvement in the right ear. It had come from 0 to 90%, but since it wasn't at 100, she still failed in the right ear. She has an appointment with the audiologist this week. The on call pediatrician said she thinks that she has a lot of vernix trapped in that ear, and that it's just absorbing. I sure hope so. I could believe that, since overnight her hearing in that ear came up from almost nil to 90%. My husband returns to work tomorrow and i'll be mostly on my own with Taryn. Luckily, he works from home, but he works outdoors :( Taryn is such a good baby, she's almost always wide awake and hardly cries for a thing, even when she's hungry or wet, so you have to really pay attention to her. She's such a wide eyed and happy baby and she's only 2 days old!
