naturalbirth , sorry if you see this more than once.
I'm 39W 4D right now. I just had an exam with my regular doctor...last week we were just fingertip dilated, and this week he said we were 2cm and my cervix was very soft.
I haven't had any other signs of impending labor aside from nesting, but we'll see.
Anyway, I got back to my office after the exam and felt like I was leaking a lot - I figured from the goo they put on their hand before they do the internal exam. I went into the bathroom and saw not goo, not pee, but blood. Not mucousy like a mucous plug, not stringy etc like they say the "bloody show" is supposed to be, just...blood. Thin and more like a cut on your hand than anything I'd expected with pregnancy.
So, is this my version of a bloody show, or is it just a result of the exam and being a bit stretched out by the doctor? He didn't say anything about trying to stretch me, etc, so I'm hoping he didn't do anything I didn't explicitly agree to in order to get labor moving, but I'm not sure what to think now.
