So I was in a car accident yesterday. I rear ended someone but its HIS fault (he brake checked me...in front of a cop..smart smart man let me tell you) I was monitored for 6 hours yesterday. It should have only been 2 but I was having contractions SO I had to stay until they felt I wasn't going into labor (I could have told them I wasn't ( Read more... )

is it possible that her super low position is adding to their freaking out about the accident and making them be more excessive than usual?

I have no idea. Before they even checked the position (well technically they were checking my fluid level) i was told I would be doing 3 NST's in 3 days.

It might just be the combination of factors - the low baby might be a sign of stress or something... ask her to confirm dates/size etc if you want?

Not really on topic, but what is 'brake checking' and how does that make it his fault if you run up the back of him?

its when you go in front of someone and purposely hit the breaks on that person. He admitted to doing it because he "Thought I would be able to stop in time and wanted to teach me a lesson"

ah... See I do that, but I don't jump in front of someone to do it, I just gently tap my brakes if they are already up my arse and sitting there... - just enough to show the brake light - if they are so close I can't see their headlights then they are too close. Ditto if I can't read their number plate. But then I'm in the country, we drive at 110km/hr, and if they are that close then they are being stupidly dangerous.

Usually they get the hint and back off, or overtake, which I'm happy to accommodate. It's a little 'my fault' - I tend to drive at about 100km an hour, because the roads are very narrow, windy, and full of road trains - so 110 is nuts. But if they want to throw themselves around on gravel corners go do it away from me.

yeah thats what I do too. The thing is, is that I wasn't following behind him. He had to pass me and then slam on his breaks. Apparently when I pulled out of a street (PLENTY OF TIME IN FRONT OF HIM!) i forced him to slow down "a few miles per hour" and that realllly pissed this guy off. THANK GOD the cop saw this and the guy totally admitted to what he did because if not I would SO be boned!

Please fix your font to plain black please.

It does seem excessive, but early labor watch is critical at that point in your pregnancy. I'd follow up with the extra nst, but probably say no to the rest as long as the tests turned out with similar results of being fine.

I only noticed because I was reading on my friends page and it totally was hard to read because it blended in with the dark background.

Did he get a ticket? Did you get in any trouble? It was my understanding that no matter who actually triggered the accident, the person who rear-ends someone else is always technically "at fault."

he got the ticked and he even admitted to road rage. It totally helps that this guy admits to what he did and the cop saw everything. Plus the way my bumper was hit was more towards the side instead of the front which according the the mechanic and insurance people "shows he slammed into me" which really I have no idea how they could tell that but whatever as long as im not getting the blame.

I think here it would be deemed "changing lanes and stopping without sufficient notice", it's basically illegal here (Oz) to do the action he did - change lanes and then not provide sufficient stopping distance. If he changed in an appropriate amount of time, and slowed safely - different story.

But then he sounds the sort to get into trouble for all sorts of road idiocy...

I think it's a state-by-state law. It's the same in Ohio, but I think I've specifically heart "In Ohio..." before I was told that statement. If I'm wrong, then she's VERY lucky it was in front of a cop!!!

If I remember right you're in Tucson aren't you? If not sorry, if so I sympathize. :) I do know if I see one more "Sonora" license plate I'll scream since I see more drivers from Mexico than Arizona...

haha yuup I'm in lovely Tucson. =) Driving in Tucson is like driving no where else. I swear they should have a sign that reads "Mexico drivers please remember we use MPH!" I am dreading the holiday season!
