I've been having period like cramps for a little over two weeks. The nurse asked if I was cramping or having contractions and I told her I was cramping. She said good! So I assume that it's an okay thing to be cramping at this stage. I really only cramp at night and in the mornings while in bed. Once I'm up and moving around cramping is very rare. ( Read more... )

I get those cramps at night too, and a TON on BH during the day. I am almost 36 weeks.

I've been having similar cramping for the past couple weeks. The past few days they've gotten progressively worse. I'm hoping it means something as well. When I asked my doctor when they first started, she said it could mean my cervix is starting to thin out. But yet I'm still not dilated or anything. So I'm not too sure. :(

I'm 37 weeks and experiencing pretty much the same thing. My doctor said it is my body preparing for the labor. I am 3 cm dilated and 50% effaced so I'm assuming that when it happens it is actually a BH contraction that is bringing on dilation or something? Have you had a cervical check yet?

...and ditto on what you said about people saying "i bet you are ready" I've only just now started to feel like i am getting anxious to have my body back to myself...And only because i can't tie my own shoes anymore and rolling over in bed is painful!
