Hello ladies. Well, me and my bf are moving to New Orleans to go live with his mom so we can save up some money before the baby comes. I am due February 13th. We live in Mississippi right now. Its about and hour drive away from NOLA. I will be quitting my job which means no insurance. I am on medicaid right now as secondary. The only place I will be able to deliver at in NOLA is a charity hospital and I dont want to do that.
Well what I was planning on doing is still coming to my appointments over here in MS. I will not be working when we move. The only thing holding me back from doing this is when I go into labor. I dont see driving an hour away while in labor. But I do not want to find another doctor.
Another thing is I am due three days before Mardi Gras and the traffic here in Biloxi, MS and in NOLA is ridiculous. I just keep thinking I will never get to a hospital in time. I will be stuck in traffic and have to have baby in car. LOL.
Anyways, just wanted to get some advice on still seeing the same doc and delivering at hospital here instead of NOLA?
