I'm sorry to all the awesome folks on this community who've had cerclage done, but it may be yet another page in the "unneeded interventions" category. If your cervix is "incompetent," you still have a 75% chance of delivering a healthy, full-term baby -- regardless of whether you get your cervix sewn shut or not. It makes me sad that women are having this invasive and (I'm assuming) expensive procedure done when it has been scientifically shown to be ineffective.
