I have severe allergies. I was taking Zyrtec-D daily up until I found out I was pregnant. I would love to know if there are any other ladies that have allergies as well and what you did for them. The idea of being off of antihistamines for the next 7 months literally makes me want to sit down and cry ( Read more... )

I second this comment. Neti pots are fabulous for allergy sufferers (including me!).

I just ordered a neti pot today. I've been suffering with sinuses for years. I can't wait to try this out. :D
Thanks

I took Zyrtec 10mg, Rhinocort, Pulmicort and Foradil throughout my pregnancy because of the severity of my asthma and allergies. I also do daily sinus rinses (www.sinusrinse.com) which really helps.

I've been taking Claritin the whole time. I've found that a saline nasal spray a bunch of times a day helps out a whole lot as well.

I took Zyrtec daily, used Rhinocort nasal spray daily, and got allergy shots throughout my pregnancy.

If you're dealing with minor sniffles, go ahead and quit the medicine. But with me, it's not minor sniffles, so I kept taking it. Zyrtec and Rhinocort are both class B (as safe as anything except folic acid).

Zyrtec-D contains the ingredient in sudafed, which is class C, and so may be slightly less safe than plain Zyrtec.

I'd suggest you talk to your doctor about what you could take.
