Worse. Did you notice the ticking clock when you first arrived? If you refuse to interact with the natives, the sound of the clock gets louder and louder until it begins to drive you insane.

Believe me, extensive studies were conducted on this effect shortly after my arrival. It works.

I don't know. Prior to this, I had no you with which to test that theory.

However, getting a pet helps somewhat, as does listening to loud music to drown the ticking out.

The turtle counts. There is also an animal shelter, if you're considering adoption.
